How many of you felt like your period coming when u were actually pregnant?

How many felt like their period coming when they were actually pregnant? For the past three days i have felt very light cramping that go away in a few minutes and i could feel my period coming but nothing!!! No period!! Can this be a sign of pregnancy?
Answer:
It happened to me i even spotted a little. Give it a few more days though.
go an do a pregnancy test .i only felt like that when i new i was pregnant
i had the same thing about two years ago. i felt crampy, then it went away with no period. i thought maybe we could be pregnant, so i took a test. it came up light pink. did that mean kinda pregnant? lol. but it was when i took a nap one day and woke up feeling like i had the flu, i knew i was pregnant. i had a pregnancy a few years before, but lost the baby, so i knew my signs. so my husband went and got a digital test that tells you "yes" or "no" and we got a definite "yes"! now we have a one year old and are so happy. i hope i helped. good luck! and maybe congratulations?.

How many girls/women out there have intentionally thrown up their meal(s) before?

Have you ever made yourself throw up your food due to self-esteem/weight concerns? Why did you do it? Just wondering how common this actually is.
Answer:
I never have because of an eating disorder. I did it one time because I overate (for real) and I felt really nauseous. I felt like I was about to puke anyway, so I made it happen. My stomach ache was gone after I did that. I've never done it for any other reason though but I know at least half of my friends have had issues with anorexia/bulimia at some point in their life (mostly as teenagers).
It's actually a disease. Belemia, I think. I don't have it, and I think it is pretty seldom.
i have but not because of self-esteem issues. i just didn't want to go to school :] some people actually are bulemic though
I have a friend who tried this when she was younger. She was so completely unhappy with her body that she resorted to it. All I can say is that if you're that unhappy with your body then you probably need some therapy. I'm not saying that to be mean, I'm saying it because you should take it very serioulsy if you're thinking about throwing up your food in order to lose weight. This is a one-way ticket to serious health problems and/or death (if done too many times). There are more serious problems in the world than being a bit chubby.
I was bulimic for two years (junior and senior year of high school). I never threw up a normal meal though. If I was really stressed out or overwhelmed with school, I would binge hardcore! I would eat so much I couldn't move! Then, I would throw it up intentionally. I guess it helped me cope with stress.
I felt like my life was out of control a lot. Sometimes I would throw up because I was concerned about my weight too. Not as often as throwing up because I was stressed though! My mom also had bulimia which I thought was odd. I'm not sure if it's inherited or not. She would eat because she felt out of control too. Hope this helps!
Love,
Binge and Purge %26lt;3 (Ha!)
Why would I do that? I like food, especialy healthy!! If you eat right and exersise, what reason is there to go around making yourself sick?

How many genital holes does a female have?

Answer:
2 only in genitalia.

1- Urethra. Where the urine comes out.

2- Vagina. I'm sure you know whast the is.

The anus is not a part of female genitalia. But is still around that area.
Pee hole, baby hole, back passage.
20
One--the vagina.

The urethra (pee hole) may be within the labia minora, but that's part of the urinary system, not the genital system--has nothing to do with reproduction.

How many eggs are produced in a woman every month?

a project on healty pregnancy
Answer:
All a females eggs are produced by the ovaries before birth. Typically only one per month is released. In rare cases either naturally or when egged on by fertility drugs more than one is releases leading to hte possiblity of fraternal twins.
None. The eggs are present from birth, and new ones aren't produced.

As far as how many are RELEASED each month, I think it's normally just one. Sometimes more than one slip by, creating the possibility of fraternal twins.
Women are born with a predetermined number of eggs. She never produces anymore. She releases usually one a month. If it is fertilized by sperm, this results in a pregnancy. If it isn't, she has her period.
That is why older women more frequently have babies with down syndrome or other genetic defects. As a woman gets older, her eggs age too. With age, comes all kinds of things that can go wrong with pregnancy. Not that they always will, but it is riskier to have children later in life, then when you are in your 20's or 30's.

How many days?

i am on the pill and i want to know how many days does it take for your period to come after you have finished your first pack
Answer:
About 3 days but as the first poster said it does vary from woman to woman. I have found that sometimes it varies from brand to brand too because when I was taking the old Ovcon 35 (it is now called something else) and had to have a period that as soon as I was off the hormone pills I would start a period. I would also recommend double checking with your dr to see what they say.
It varies for every woman.
should be about 3/4
It can depend on your body and also what pill you're on. It used to be 4 days for me on Dianette, but is now only 2 on Trinovum.
a few
about 3-4 days with me
Im on Microgynon 30. It usually comes on the 3rd or 4th day.

How many days does your period last if you are under 30?

Answer:
That depends entirely on the individual. A period can last and be considered a "normal" period from 3-7 days.
They usually last for about 4 days
Mine lasts about 5 days of bleeding, and starts again about 30 - 31 days since the last day it stopped bleeding. So I started last month on the 20th and it lasted 7 days before I could stop wearing pads, it started again on the 23rd and fully ended Sunday (yesterday, today, whatever).

Normal/average cycle is anywhere from 21 - 28 days. Average bleeding is about 4 days.
If you are just starting to have periods they may vary in length because your body is still adjusting. After they become "normalized" they will be the same length every month. Probably 4 to 5 days.
If you are having severe problems with cramps, heavy bleeding or something like that, have your mother take you to the doctor.
it depend on individual body dear.. Some can have 3 days. but mostly 3 to 7 days... I use to have for twice a month of 7 days for the first few months then it was 7 to 9 days per month.. n now after 10years plus it is 5 days. Anyway if you worried go see a doctor to have a scan done.Just tell the doc the problem n he will tell you what test to do...
I had a fibroid in my womb thats why the heavy flow.. Since i start taking iron tablet to replace the excess iron lost .. my mense flow have improve alot...

How many days can your period be late normally?

Answer:
Your periods can just skip, sometimes a few cycles at a time. We all have different lengths to start off with. We a re all human and we are all affected by outside forces. Stress, medical conditions, illness, medication, etc.. can all cause your period to be late. There is no such thing as 'normal' lateness. And what is 'normal' for me (as in I do not cycle during the winter) is not 'normal' for others (as some have a 28 day cycle).
It varies from person to person.. You just have to get to know your cycle and know what is normal for you.

How many days before...?

your period do you usually get mood swings or feel angry for like..no reason?
Answer:
about a week... I have terrible mood swings about four or five days before my period starts.
Never. Lots of women never deal with PMS, others can have symptoms for a week or so before their period. Severity varies as well, some can have severe problems, others can find some mild discomfort.

How many crunches?

will it take to lose at least 15lbs before June 8 ??
Answer:
You don't lose weight doing crunches. You lose weight with a healthy diet, plenty of cardio exericise and plenty of water. Crunches will help strengthen and tone the abdominal muscles, but even fat people can have toned abdominal muscles beneath the layers of fat. If you're trying to lose weight, crunches won't help you.

So, do the cardio/eating/water and do about 200 crunches every other day (you want to allow your muscles time to rest without overtraining or injuring them).
you will need to do more crunches
300 a day and a low fat diet.
Wow this is a good question I'll keep an eye to this
You have to more than just crunches. Crunches have no effect on weight; only for toning your abs.
You have to do cardio exercises too.
Crunches alone aren't going to do it. You need to watch your what you eat and do some cardio to burn maximum calories. You are going to have to burn more than you take in. Also cut out the pop and drink lots of water!
I have a better way. The soup diet, just eat homemade vegtable soup for 8 days. and you will look sweet in your grad party dress. Crunches....20 000
Thats gonna be a lot of crunches!

How many condoms can you buy in a package?

I know this sounds like a weird question ... but I just have to know. It's been forever since I've had to buy them . do they still come in 3, 6, and 12?
Answer:
3 for the smaller package and 12 for the larger ones. Target has the cheapest prices.
%26lt;%26gt;Yep, that's the way they come.
yeah, i know they come in 3's and 12's and i've seen a 30 pack too, but only in the trojan brand.
24
Most come in 3 or 12, but if you go to Costco, you can get about 24-36 a pack, and it's cheaper

How many CALORIES?!?!?

how many calories does a 12-14 years old women should take in a day?
Answer:
Unless you're overweight, I wouldn't count calories as you would still be growing.

Eat nutritious food - lean meat, vegetables, fruit, whole grains, low fat dairy - until you are full. Your body knows how much food it needs, as long as you don't confuse it by feeding it garbage.

Once you are fully grown, you can worry about fine tuning your weight.

If you are overweight, talk to your doctor, who would be more then happy to give you some nutritional advice.
1200 if overweight 1500 if healthy weight 1700 if underweight
if you are within the avrage weight limit, (you cn check this by finding your BMI, (to find your BMI, just google "find BMI" and click on the 1st link)) but if you are within the avrage weight limit, then you should be taking in about 1,450 to 1,550 per day.
It is impossible to say. Your caloric intake is dependent on your body mass, metabolism and activity level. Also, in your case, whether you have stopped growing or not is also a consideration.

This question can only be answered after measurements, physical evaluations and calculations. Everything else is speculation dependent on "average" information which likely is NOT right for you.

How many calories should i eat a day?

Im 113 pounds and Im trying to gain at the most 15 pounds
Answer:
Try 2000 calories and see how that works. Also, do a search for My Pyramid - its the nutrition website and they can tell you how many cals you need.
probably just adding about 300 calories should do it.

How many calories on average does a woman burn in one day without exercise?

A woman between the ages of 20-40 in good health.

How long...?

does it usually take to know if you've inserted a tampoon incorrectly?
Answer:
you would know right away. If it's inserted incorrectly, then you will feel touching your vaginal walls. Another reason you may feel it is due to being too dry. You might want to replace with a tampon of less absorbency.
you will know right away.
there would be discomfort immediately
i dont no what the question is (LOL)
Once you start moving around and it starts to feel like it might fall out. hehe :)
you'll know right away if its not inserted right cause it won't feel right.
immediately!!especially when you walk, it's nothing that you can tolerate...believe me.

How long will it take me to get back to my normal weight?

I was recently stressed over the past month and lost over 10 pounds because I had lost my appetite. Now that my appetite is back and I'm eating like I used to again, will I be able to gain back what I lost? Or will I stay the weight I am now since I am eating the same way I did before I lost the weight and maintained that weight?
Answer:
I don't think you'll stay your weight that you are now (10 lbs lighter that is) If you're eating really healthy and watching your weight than maybe you won't even gain it back. But if you do gain it back, most likely, it will be within a month. Seeing as it took you a month to lose the 10 lbs. Gluck
it should go on or come off at the same rate it gained or lost..
If you eat approximately the same calories as you did before you should be able to hold your weight. It all depends on what you eat.

How long will it take for my g/f to recover after a boob job? will she be able to go on the town a week later?

Answer:
Reduction or Enlargement?

I would wait a few weeks, since one week post op she will still be swollen and still in the healing process.

Not only that, she will want to make sure her incisions will not rip open while "out on the town".

Give it a month (until her incisions FULLY close).
bed rest for approx a month at least. no she should rest at home, my friend had 1 done, and her bf had to help her sit up, lie down and dress her x
yeh... why ? dont you want her to show off her new boobs ?
Dude it takes like a month to recover...
yes, but only if wearing a sports bra, and no vigourous jiggle-making exercise for about 6 weeks!
I had my boobs done in March. I went into surgery at 8:30 AM on a Tuesday and was up walking around by 2:00 PM that afternoon. I went out with my friends that Friday night.

My arms were very weak, so I did need help opening the car door, laying down, and getting directly out of bed for about 2 weeks, but that was just because my arms were weak.

Just know ahead of time, they are not going to be really full and round and pretty for at least a few weeks, and they will not be soft right away either, but I bet you 2 will love them in a few weeks.

She will be in a sports bra for a full month, so they will have support.
Hi
6 years ago I had boob reduction I could not go out for 6 weeks, I had to wait until all the swelling went down and the wounds to heal, and not to pull the stitches, it is the same for an enlargement, you have to take painkillers and antibiotics, so you cannot do alcohol, because it will interfere with the medication it won't work and that can lead to trouble,
your girlfriend will feel very tired, she cannot wear a bra until ALL the swelling goes then she will have to be measured up for a bra that fits her properly, or maybe a good sports bra
Lots of things can go wrong in the first month, her boobs could
become inflamed, the stitches could get septic, and most of all
they will be very hot sore and heavy, her body has got to get used to this change and adapt to it,
if I were you, I would not mention going out stay in with her, cook her a lovely dinner, put flowers around, light candles
remember no alcohol get a nice fruit juice ,enjoy the nights in You can celebrate when she is well enough 6 weeks is not long
i had mine done on the friday and i was out with a normal bra on the week after ! they were still swollen and hard but hey u mite aswell show them when they are that big ! before they go down to normal size - but yeah she will be fine - she can leave her sports bra on if she chooses ! xxxx

How long will iit take for a female to have a normal period and she has stopped taking birth control pills?

Answer:
While it is true that you can get pregnant immediately, it takes usually 3 to 6 months to have a normal period again. Some doctors even say one should give it a full year, depending on how long someone has taken birth control pills. (If it takes too long or if one has mood swings etc, Agnus castus may help. It is a natural herb that balances the hormones.)
Your normal cycle should return within 30 days. Also remember, going off the pill can result in an unwanted pregnancy within only DAYS of stopping the pill. It happened to me. If you do not want to have children right now, use another means of birth control.

How long were you taking HRT?

How long were you taking HRT, did it help and did you have any unpleasant symptoms when you came off the treatment?
Answer:
First time 5 years had a 2 year break been back on it for 8 months I know the risks but believe me my flushes were so bad it really was effecting my life
They kept me awake most of the night at least 3 flushes an hour in the day
I used to be soaking wet it was so uncomfortable and embarrassing when i was out
Hrt has been wonderful for me apart from putting on weight
In general all the licences for HRT restrict its first line use to relief of menopausal symptoms. That in itself should preclude extended use. Currently many doctors will now use the smallest possible dose shortest possible time regime.

The problem is that over the age of 50, among other risks HRT modestly increases the breast cancer risk.
The good doctor who replied has never experienced hot flashes, while I did. I am using HRT for 20 years now. After hysterectomy the hot flashes became unbearable, I tried to stop but I gave up. So my gynecologist (a woman) said I should continue taking the HRT because my well-being overlaps the danger of cancer of which I am aware. So you need to decide, its your responsibility.

How long until my period?

I was taken off the pill a few weeks ago, i'm wondering how long it will take to have a period, i've had the period that normally happens on my 7 pill free days, but its been a few weeks now and there's no sign of the 'real' one
Answer:
Threes no telling when it will come. Just be ready. K?
true what the person above me says.
b happy! Just b prpared, i guess.
First, it depends on how often you had your period before you started taking the pill. Then it depends on whether you have been exposed to the risk of pregnancy since you stopped the pill.
In general, if you are not pregnant, resumption of normal menses may be anywhere from4 weeks onward. If you are not pregnant and usually got regular periods before the pill, I would not be concerned, and would wait.
Be sure to use other birth control to avoid pregnancy if thatis not desired.

How long until I feel better?

I was diagnosed with a bladder infection on Friday. I had it for a fews days before I went to the doctor. I have body aches, pain in my left side, bladder pressure and pain, lower abdomen ache and pain and frequent urination and the feeling I need to and a bad smell when I pee. I have taken 2.5 full days of my meds (which is only 4 pills). Should I worry? Or will I feel better soon? I don't want to have a kidney infection and not know it? Please help!
Any home remedies to help as well?
Thanks!!
Answer:
Go back to your doc if your symptoms don't get any better (or worsen) in the next few days.. try not to stress about it for the time being..

... and drink plenty of water!
I know how horrible a bladder infection can be, try to work out what caused this attack so you know how to change things in the future... i did, %26 haven't had one since...
expect to feel better soon! worrying will only worsen your condition. didn't u ask your Dr. for any home remedies when u went to see him? best advice should come from the Dr. who've seen you.

stay healthy!
I left a UTI go too long without going to the doctors and developed a kidney infection. Boy do those hurt! I went to the doctors and they gave me Cipro which cleared it up pretty quick. It took a couple days for the pain and frequent urination to go away, but it helped with the infection itself. I'd give it another day or so and if it gets worse, definately call the doctor. After 2 days I would think the meds would be starting to work, but I am not a doctor or anything close so this is merely some advice. Good luck and hope you feel better soon!

How Long Until Birth Control Pill Leaves My System?

I went from Low-Ogestrel to Aviane, and now I'm out. Done. I'm going to consult my doctor about too much estrogen (I have two fibroids, and as they grow on estrogen, I suspect that I've got more than my share of this hormone). I will need to eventually resume taking something for the cysts, but I need a break for now. In the meantime, how long can I expect to "wait it out" until these wretched pills leave my system? I just can't take how awful they make me feel, even at low doses. Thanks.
Answer:
I used to take birth-control pills. Before starting, I talked to a lot of people who took different kinds. Several people told me of their search for the right kind. One lady told me she took one kind, but had side effects, so she waited about 2 or 3 months before starting a different kind. But that one had bad side effects too, so she waited another 2 to 3 months before starting a third kind. When I stopped taking the pills, my side effects stopped about 2 months later.
From personal experience it should take up to one year.
It should leave your system within a day or two though it may take you several weeks to feel a difference.
from my experience...2-8 months.

How long till I should be worried about my periods stopping?...?

I'm eighteen now, and I started when I was eleven, I've never really eaten properly, and my periods are never regular. I was on the pill (microgarneon30) when I was fifthteen, and I carried on taking it for two years. When I stopped, I had a period three months later, and I got told this was normal,

I've had a few since then. Its been about nearly a year now since I last had one. I don't eat properly, I guess you could say im anorexic, and im also anemic.

Please don't tell me to start eating right, or to see a docter, my problems with food aren't the issue here, im mearly asking if I should be worried, and if im under risk of pernament infertillity.

If you would like additional infomation to answer this, just say so, and I will edit.
Answer:
Well you answered your own question. You must have already been warned about your unhealthy eating habits. It's not always what you eat it's if you eat at all ? Anorexics can take their bodies to the point of starvation and if by "I don't eat properly" means your hardly eating that could be the reason why your not menstruating. At your age I dealt with irregular periods and was told mine was partly caused by anemia and unhealthy eating habits. Only I was opposite you I was overweight. I finally reached ideal weight for me and nutritionist. A weight I felt comfortable with around 22 years of age and because I eat...but in moderation and more healthy foods now at 25 my periods have continued to be regular and Ive kept the weight off...through this time whereas I wasn't menstruating in the beginning once my body realized it was safe I was even blessed with a daughter. So since permanent infertility is a concern you really should talk to someone who will reason with your side, views, and opinions but someone who will also tell you right from wrong and not cater to you. I hope you get the help you need both physically and mentally.
No, thats the point here.. you should eat right, and the nutrition is your problem. Please do not ignore this, you are saying : please don't tell me to start eating right..But that is your problem. If you don't get proper nutrients, your period will be irregular ofcourse. I don't understand how people can't eat right! I mean eat veggies, drink water, juice.whatever, just no junk food, ok? trust me, you'll notice a big difference, you'll feel better too. Also, did you know that if you get extremely thin, your periods will stop? And anorexia eventually leads to infertility? Think about it.
you are doing your body irreparable damage ,that could even end in death and i am not messing about
Your weight and what you eat unfortunately is the issue. Think of it this way: your body has stopped producing eggs and therefore you no longer have periods. Your body is doing this because you are not healthy enough and would not be able to adequately nourish a baby if you became pregnant. The longer you fail to have a period the more likely the chance that you will be unable to become pregnant in the future. Your weight problem is probably also causing your anemia. You must start eating properly and see your doctor or you may end up causing irreperable damage to not only you reproductive but also your vital organs. GET HELP!
The earlier a woman starts her period, the earlier she will go thru menopause. Generally though MP doesn't start until late 30s or early 40s. Because you've never had a regular cycle it may be harder to detect the peri-menopause period.

How long should you have eggwhite cervical mucus?

I am beginning to think I have a very short window for ovulation. I have it for part of a day and then not again. Can you have eggwhite cervical mucus for longer than a day?
Answer:
By observing your vaginal secretions, you'll know if you are ovulating. You should notice that there's a changing pattern from vaginal dryness to sticky discharge to slippery discharge. The slippery discharge may last 1-2 days. The accompaniment of swollen vulva will indicate that you are in the peak of your ovulation (i.e., an egg has been realease from one of your ovaries and is ready for fertilization). After the peak day, your vaginal discharge will become sticky or dry.
most women ovulate one day out of their cycle.

How long should menstrual cramps last?

Should they last throughout your whole cycle, the first 1 or 2 days or just before you start your period?
Answer:
Everyone is different, I get mine for three days, but sometimes they last all through my period. But the first three days are the worst for me.
For me, they last the entire length of my period, and a couple days before. There are medicines that can help though! (thank goodness)
Oddly enough, the second day of my period was when I had the cramps.
it sometimes occurs in between the period and then it goes away. it hurts because of the shedding of the uterus lining. it does not take long. it comes on now and then during the cycle.
Mine will sometimes last throughout the entire cycle. Some ladies are lucky in the respect of mild or short lasting cramps. The rest of us are unlucky with long, hot, knife-like cramps.
Usually it's the first day but varies woman to woman, So as soon as your period starts...Rush and buy some "Midol" maximum strength
me, its the first and second day
There is nothing you can really do. That is the way your body functions. It depends on how much the uterus sheds blood per day that cause the cramping. If the brain detects that there is still unwanted blood in the uterus, regardless if it is the first or last day, it will contract so the uterus can be completely emptied of the useless blood. The only relief is to take pain medicine on the onset of pain. It helps a lot!
Only during your period. My cramps usually happen on the heavy days.
for me they only last from1-3 days after i have started my period.

How long it takes to get pregnant after taking birth controll pills for 3 year?

How long does it takes for your period to be normal
Answer:
I'm not completely sure but I was on birth control since the age of 12, and after I got married in July (I was 18 at the time), I quit taking my birth control pills, and I got pregnant in October. I then miscarried in December and I think the reason why was because I probably still had residue in my blood from the pills. That would be a good question to ask your doctor. They'd be able to tell you for sure.

How long is your very first period supposed to last?

cause mine only lasted like two days.
Answer:
First, congratulations on joining the ranks.

A period is generally between 3 and 7 days, but the only abnormal period is the one that never comes.

You need to know and to understand that for the first few years after you reach menarche, your body is getting used to it's new role, and it will take that long for it to settle into a routine cycle. Just keep track of it using any calendar, and always be prepared. It's simple to do - keep a couple of pads in a resealable plastic bag in your knapsack or whatever, and keep a fresh pair of panties in another resealable plastic bag. If you period begins when you're away from home, you'r prepared. Also, if you do stain your panties (it happens to us all, don;t worry), rinse them with cold water as soon as you possibly can, to help the stain from setting. That's why you want that extra pair of panties in a second bag - to have someplace to keep the stained ones.

I'm adding some links about feminine hygiene. That's a bit different, now that you are menstruating, than it was before you reached menarche.
the next one will last maybe 5-7 days,
Everybody is different. Consider yourself lucky!
well its different for every woman, the first may last from as little as a day or 2 but some woman can experience a period up to 7 days long. i think the average for most is around 5 days once you start to become regular.
about 3-7 days but I wouldn't worry. you may just be very light.
40 minutes,oh i thought you were talking about school,sorry
There is no real answer to that since everybody is different, but don't worry they usually start out irregular. Sometimes it is years before you start having regular periods. Just be happy it was only 2 days, not an extra long on like 7 or more days. That is rare, but it can happen. You will be fine :)
Well mine lasted a week it all depends on how your body works
It takes a few months for your body to get regular and that can mean shorter periods even skipping a month
it usually varies, between 3-7 days, since it was your first it is probably natural for it to only last a couple of days
That is perfectly normal. Your body does that because it is so new to it and has no idea what it is so there isn't very much. Also be prepared for a lot of odd period over the next year or 2. Sometimes they come early or very very late. But do not worry! It happens to everyone. Once I went 6 happy months without my period! But I was fine. My body was just adjusting and so is yours! Be prepared!

How long is your mentrual cycle suppose to last?

The reason I asks, I heard on one of the radio stations from a doctor that it is suppose to last for only two days. If it lasts longer, that means that a women is not healthy and this is the reason alot of women become anemic. Mines last between 4 to 5 days. Do you think the doctor is correct about that? I do not know what to believe..
Answer:
3-9 days is the average length of menstruation. The radio might have been talking about menstruation while on new low-dose birth controls. They can shorten the length of your period to about 3 days. I think with 4 to 5 days, you're lucky.

Anemia can be caused by particularly long or heavy cycles. So even if you have a relatively short cycle, which you do, if it's very heavy, you could still be losing to much blood (esp. the iron in your blood.) Symptoms of anemia include weakness, fatigue, and shakiness. If you think you may have it, ask a doctor about it. A simple blood test can check your iron levels. They may recommend increasing your dietary intake of iron or iron supplements. Good luck!
A normal cycle is between 5 and 7 days.
That's baloney- they last 4-8 days.
I last 4-5 days 2 day being heavy
The average menstrual bleed can last from four to seven days. The "doctor" that said a period should only last two days doesn't either doesn't know what he's talking about or he meant to say that excessive bleeding (such as soaking through a pad within an hour) for more than two days can cause anemia.
A typical menstrual period can last anywhere from 24 hours to 10 days, depending upon the person.

The doctor that said that on public radio was an idiot! People like that ought to have mandatory lobotomies and their lips super-glued shut!

If you're period lasts 4-5 days, you are in among the national average. Do NOT fret about something so trivial!
Here's a link to some info. Your period may last anywhere between 2-7 days. You are ok.

that docotr is stupid. a normal period last 2-7 days with the AVERAGE being 5. Women who eat less or are vegetarians will usually have shorter periods so the doctor was probably a vegetarian supporter, which does not mean that you are unhealthy if you are within the avergae, 5 days
It is different for everyone. I do not think that 4 or 5 days is unhealthy, if you feel there is a problem talk to your doctor about it... word of advice...do not believe everything you hear...or read
between 5-7 days
Not every female is the same. Usually periods will last anywhere from 3 to 7 days. Depending on how long your cycle is (28 days-42 days), I think that plays effect on how long you'll have your period.
The Doctor is very wrong! Most women's mentrual cycle runs 5-7 days per month.
If they are 2 days , then they must be on some kind of birth control or some drug to make it happen.
Most women are healthy and bleed 5-7 days every month til menopause.
mine is also 4-5 days, that's normal
That wasn't a doctor. There is no way that that was a doctor. No doctor would confuse the words period and cycle. No doctor would say that a cycle lasts only 2 days. No doctor would imply that menstrual flow is fresh blood.

Your period lasts from 3 - 7 days, but the most frequent length of a cycle is about 28 days.

As soon as your period ends, your body begins laying down a new layer of tissue. That tissue has one use and one use only - to provide a food source for a fertilized and implanted ova, until there is enough of a placenta for you to support than embryo. That embryo prompts your body to secrete specific hormones that prevent the lining from being sloughed off.

Where there is no fertilized ova that has implanted, your body doesn't produce those hormones, and the lining sloughs off, clearing the way for a fresh lining to be laid down. That sloughing off is your menstrual flow.

Your cycle is the time from the first day of one period to the last day without the next one. OF course, you can't tell that offhand, but you can tell when your next period begins, and that begins the count of another cycle. Keep track of these on a calendar, any calendar, and you can determine both the usual length of your period and of your cycle.

Call that radio station and complain about their choice of guest. Then call your country's broadcast authority and complain about it as well.
depends on how old you are...anytime from 2-8 days is normal, teens and peri-menopausal women have shorter periods.
I think every woman on here would agree with me and say they'd like to find out how to have 2 day periods! LOL

Mine were every 28 days like clockwork since I was 12 years old, 5 days long. Three days of bleeding, one day of absolutely nothing, last day of spotting. Then all of a sudden one day last August my body decided to say "screw you" and it hasn't been the same since then. Nineteen wasn't a good year for me lol. Anyways...

I have never heard of 2 day periods, even on birth controls that are supposed to lighten it. They make it so you can skip it altogether, but that's not what he was saying on the radio either.

I do not think the doctor was correct at all...I'm just afraid of what he's been telling his female patients all these years he's been in practice. If that is what the "doctor on the radio" really said then he doesn't know what he's doing. If he does actually believe what he said he has no right to a medical license. 4-5 days sounds completely normal so you sound like you are fine with your cycle.

Like she said up there...don't believe everything you read or hear.

I only believe it if I can see it, and even then I don't always believe it.
about 4- 5 days
The normal time is 4-5 days, but as some women age it gets less, some have them for 7-8 days any longer than this should get checked out.

How long is your cycle?

mine is only 20 days
is that too short?
Answer:
there is no right answer because everyone is different. mine are anywhere from 25-35 days. I am 42 and have had it since I was 8, always been that way.
Too short sounds too long

MY LAST ABOUT 5-6 DAYS
PUT WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ASK YOUR DOCTOR
I have PCOS and right now Im on Cycle Day 93, so Im sorry I dont know normal!
no a normal cycle is 20 to 27 days
I was 28 days. Now it seems like it's getting a day shorter every year. (Now I'm at 26 days.) How old are you?
presumin that you are talkin about the whole menstraul cycle, from beginnin of period to beginnin of period, not 20 days is not too short, if you want to try and make it longer, etc try the pill, it might help
are you asking how long do periods last or how often they come? 'cause mine come every 30 days and last for 7 days.
20-23 days

How long is too long for bleeding after child birth?

I had a child nine weeks ago and I have had heavy bleeding from the time I had my child until week six. The doctor's told me it was normal and that I may even possibly having a period. I am breastfeeding and have heard this is not common. I was bleeding so heavy between week four and six that I would go through a pad an hour. They put me on a birth control to get the bleeding to reduce and it worked for about two weeks. When week eight came around I began bleeding again, just like a period, I have been bleeding for almost two weeks now again. I can't take it anymore, I just want to enjoy my child and not feel tired all the time from having what seems like a constant period. Does anyone have any clues for me? After numerous doctor's visits where they tell me just to give it more time, I feel like there's no hope. I'll be bleeding forever. I haven't skipped one dose of my birth control so why would I be having a period mid-pack only two weeks after I finally stopped bleeding??
Answer:
Sometimes it takes up to 3 months for birth control to take effect so mid cycle bleeding is actually common. That sounds like too much blood loss following childbirth (soaking a pad an hour is cause for a visit to the dr/er after childbirth), so if I was you, I probably would go try to get a second opinion. Good luck..
I agree - that is way to long to bleed. I would go to a different doctor, that doesn't seem normal to me especially if you have heavy bleeding.

How long is it okay for me to take diane35?

I'm using diane-35 pills to treat hormonal imbalance and possible polycystic ovary per gynecologist's prescription. She also recommended it for my acne problems. I am prescribed to take it for 3 to 6 months and have an ultrasound to see if there are some changes in my ovaries. The problem is I don't have an access to a trustworthy gynecologist and ultrasound where I am. I've been continuing taking diane35 for 9 months (last April) because of that. Is it okay for me to continue doing so as I'm also using it for contraception? I'm getting anxious over this news that diane35 causes severe side effects so I'm hoping for good answers for the mean time while I have no proper doctors to consult with.
Answer:
I took Diane 35 for 5 years with no serious problems.

HTH : )

How long is it before I can go swimming after having a Hysterectomy?

I had a Hysterectomy in December 2006 %26 need to get some strength back, but without doing any damage, so I thought swimming would be a good idea, but everyone I try to get advice from tell me to see my doctor!
Answer:
After three to four weeks

* Exercise such as swimming is beneficial.
* Avoid standing for long periods.
* Avoid lifting anything heavy.

Go swimming, it is great exercise and its not a hard workout like running or whatever..
i think you will be ok now. take it easy. . do a few slow lengths to start off. . im sure your doctor would say the same .if you feel fit then do it
You'll be fine now! :o) You can go after 3-4 weeks.

How long have you..?

ever missed your period due to stress? Such as a few days late, weeks, even months?
Answer:
i didn't miss it. i was really early and the bleeding hasn't stopped (it's been 10 days). i'm really frightened by it. read my questions and give any suggestions you may have!
i am having the same problem. its already a month now and i am worried. i need help too.
9 days cause I was stressing about being pregnant so it made it so late
yes i did and i think the longest was 2 weeks
for both of you, dont worry, stress can be a reason but usually if its a couple weeks or longer it could be your body fat index, u need to be at 17% (i think) to menstruate, it happens to some althetic females..also can be other things, if you eat right, sleep enough, drink water, try minimizing stress, be active that can help.birth control helps alot of women regulate the period (mine is normal %26 on time every month) if it happens often or for a long time go to the gyno because not getting periods can cause iron build up %26 remember u can still get pregnant at anytime so be careful
I have been a few weeks late before. However, you should still go to the doctor, or at least give your doctor a call to make sure you don't need to be seen. They might want to run a pregnancy test.

How long does your period usually last?

Answer:
mine used to last 7 to 9 days.. n i bleed alot n f lots of lumps . Later in my twenties when i did pap smear n scanning i came to know i had fibroid.. The heavy flow was due to it. I did not remove it as it was small. But i start taking Iron tablet to put back the iron i lose every month and my period became normal. Now my period is normal lasting 4 to 5 days...
So if you have heavy flow then see your doctor soon...
It depends on the person. Usually between 3 to 7 days is the normal range. I have mine for 5 days.
It's all based on genetics, health, diet, activity, etc. 3-7 days, rare longer, rare shorter.
Mines last exactly 7 days
